Chesapeake – Raymond H.W. Scott, 81, passed away on Saturday July 7, 2012. He was born in 1931 to the late David and Louise Scott in New York. He was married to the late O. Lynn Scott who passed away in 2002 after 47 years of marriage. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Robin Dowdy of Chesapeake, David J. Scott of Knotts Island, NC, and Daryl W. Scott and his wife Betty of Bailey, NC; a sister, Elizabeth Scott of North Carolina. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Scott is also preceded in death by his daughter, Tami Lynn Jobe, who passed away in 2005. Raymond was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Disabled American Veterans, Bayside Masonic Temple and enjoyed square and round dancing with various groups in the area. Mr. Scott's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center for the exceptional care that was offered to their father during his treatments with them. A memorial service will be held in the Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel 5792 Greenwich Road, Virgina Beach on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at 6:00 pm with Joseph Norris officiating. Burial will be private in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his wife. Please visit www.altmeyer.com to express condolences to the family.
