Mavis Mercer, 85 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 3, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Mercer Jr., son, Ronnie Lee Mercer; daughter, Carolyn Jean Omahen. Mavis is survived by her oldest daughter Linda Young of Va. Beach; her youngest daughter and son-in law Debbie and Steve Peckham of Va. Beach; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grand-children and one-great-great granddaughter.
Family and friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd. Va. Beach, Va. on Aug 6, 2012 between 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be Aug. 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Altmeyer Chapel burial will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com
