Elizabeth Halleck Colt 84, of Virginia Beach passed away on August 9, 2012 in Virginia Beach. She was born in LaPort Indiana, the daughter of the late Ruth and Abraham Halleck. Her husband, Jack Colt of California and her sister, Ruth Ann Bruzelius of Longmont Colorado, preceded her in death. She was originally a native of Chicago. Elizabeth was the first women member of The America Society of Metals in the late 1950's. She had a distinguished career as a research scientist. Elizabeth leaves behind a daughter Elizabeth Heflin of Virginia Beach, three grandsons, Robert, David and Christopher Smith and many great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. Flowers will be shared with shut-ins after the service as she was a shut-in and always enjoyed flowers. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
