KALO, Mary H., 94, of Elm Grove, Wheeling, surrounded by her children at home, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2009.
Mary was born May 30, 1915 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Daniel and Victoria Thomas. She was a lifelong member St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling, where she was a former greeter and member of the Christian Mothers; a member of the Elm Grove Women's Club; and the Wheeling and Elm Grove Seniors.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Andy J. Kalo in 1999; a daughter, Linda Kalo; two brothers, Victor and Daniel Thomas; a sister, Helen Thomas; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Kalo.
She is survived by her son, Daniel V. Kalo and his wife, Nancy (Wilson) of St. Albans, W.Va.; two daughters, Andrea and Janice Kalo of Elm Grove; two grandchildren, Sara Ann Kalo Cooper and her husband, Joshua of St. Albans and Brantlee Smith Elwell and her husband, Dale of Greensboro, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Drew and Hannah Elwell; a special loving niece, Debbie Thomas Milton of Buford, Ga.; a special loving nephew, Charles Kalo of Wheeling; and several other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Monday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, where vigil services will be held at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wheeling. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Tender Loving Care Home Health and Hospice, 1231 Warwood Avenue, Suite B, Wheeling, WV 26003.
