VERNSE I. McCORMICK, 92, of Shadyside, OH, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born January 22, 1917 in Guernsey County, OH, a daughter of the late Ellsworth and Idella McCormick.
Vernse was a homemaker and a Christian Scientist by faith.
In addition to her parents, Vernse was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, 2 grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are 2 children; William McCormick and his wife Rosalee, of Armstrongs Mills, OH, Gerelene Schmidt and her husband Don, of Shadyside, a brother, Alfred McCormick, of Cumberland Furnace, TN, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 5 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, where services will be held on Friday at 1:00pm.
Burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
