JUANITA WORKMAN 85 of Shadyside, Ohio died peacefully on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the Shadyside Care Center surrounded by her family.
She was born July 22, 1924 in Logan, West Virginia a daughter of the late William and Irene Duke Bumgarner.
Mrs. Workman was retired from the former L S Good's and a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star 581 Shadyside Chapter. She was an avid quilter, loved to camp, study medical journals and read the Bible. She will be greatly missed and was adored by her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Workman on May 11, 2005, an infant son, Thomas "Caboose" Workman, one sister, Willa Wood and two brothers, Jack and William Bumgarner.
Surviving are her six children, Carol (James) Jarrett of Shadyside, Curtis (Dana) Workman of Dobson, NC, Linda (John) Shaver of Shadyside, Johnny (Theda) Workman of Tornado, WV, Sharon (Pat) Singleton of Woodsfield and Karen Bobek of Columbus, grandchildren, Jimmy Joe Jarrett of Columbus, Philip Stafford of Wyoming, Jerry Dale Duncan of Yorkville, Jamie Davis of Shadyside, Holly Morris of Sarasota, FL, Matt Workman in Texas, Bethany Wilkinson of Wilmington, NC, Troy Workman of Tornado, WV, Tara Turley of Charleston, WV, Jessie Endress of Tornado, WV, David and Michael Shaver of Shadyside, Kyle Singleton of Woodsfield, Chad Bobek of Columbus and Zak Bobek of Columbus, two sisters, Joan Brooks of Ashland, KY and Virginia Mullins of Teays Valley, WV. Also many great grandchildren and special nieces, Beverly Warden and Lou Arno.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Shadyside Care Center for their tender care, love and support.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm and Friday at the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church 3838 Lincoln Avenue Shadyside on Friday from 11 am until time of services at 1 pm with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
Order of Eastern Star will conduct services on Thursday at 7 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Fire Department and Emergency Squad 4210 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio 43947.
