MARGARET BARANICH SAMS of Shadyside, Ohio died Thursday November 5, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Powhatan Point, Ohio on March 11, 1925 a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kapak Baranich.
Margaret was a graduate of Powhatan High School, Class of 1943 and was a receptionist for Dr. Henry DeGenova's dental office in Bellaire, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James E. Sams, two brothers, Andrew and George Baranich and six sisters, an infant, Julia, Helen, Ann, Sue and Mary.
Surviving are one son, George Thomas (Donna) Crozier of Key, Ohio, four daughters, Karen (Jerry) Narcisi, Suzanne Bonar Haslam and Carla Clark all of Shadyside, Ohio and Wendy (Dan) Newland of Colerain, Ohio and one brother, John (Hannah Belle) Baranich of Clarington, Ohio and two stepsons, Dr. John (Robin) Sams of Louisana and Edward Sams of Guatamala and three stepdaughters, Ann (John) Lincourt of North Carolina, Sarah Holder of Texas and Patricia Isom of Texas. Margaret is also survived by ten grandchildren, Terri (Bob) Saffell of Belmont, Ohio, Tim (Tiffany) Crozier of Glen Dale, West Virginia, Kevin (Kathlen) Narcisi of South Carolina, Jodi (Doug) Donaldson of Georgia, Jack Bonar of Columbus, Ohio, Court (Kala) Bonar, Brooke Bonar and Glenn Bonar all of Shadyside, Ohio, Audrey Clark of Bellaire, Ohio and Leah Newland of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are nine step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday November 8, 2009 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Sunday from 12 Noon to 8 pm where services will be held on Monday November 9, 2009 at 11 am with Pastor Jeffrey Lewis officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
