HOSKINS, James Martin, 52, of Powhatan Point, OH, died Sunday, December 6, 2009 in Belmont Manor, St. Clairsville, OH.
He was born June 26, 1957 in Glen Dale, WV, the son of late Charles and Norma Moore Hoskins.
He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran of the Gulf War Conflicts serving in Operation Desert Shield and serving as Master of Arms on the U.S.S. Eisenhower during Operation Desert Shield, Head of Security at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba, a member of the American Legion, Post #228, Powhatan, Point, OH, and a game warden on the Chesapeake Bay.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Virginia Hoskins, one brother, Charles Hoskins.
Surviving is a daughter, Virginia May Hoskins of San Diego, CA; two brothers, David (Christie) Hoskins of Moundsville; Joe (Melissa) Hoskins of Weston, WV; two sisters, Karen Rogerson of Moundsville; Patty Greathouse of Murfreeboro, TN; a sister-in-law, Sue Hoskins of Moundsville; step-mother, Mary Ann Hoskins of Glen Dale; two step-sisters, Melanie Davis and Stephanie Lowry, several nieces and nephews.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 with Rev. J. Thomas Steele officiating.
Interment with U.S. Military Honors in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
