Conner, Lynn “Benny”, 90, of Moundsville, WV, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at home.
He was born February 12, 1920 in Moundsville, a son of the late Calvin and Emma Elson Conner.
Mr. Conner was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Benwood Plant, a member of the Moundsville Baptist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; three sisters; a step-son; a step-daughter; a grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel L. Darrah Conner; a son, Robert D. (Patricia) Conner of Florida; two step-sons, Floyd E.(Shirley) Gump of Moundsville, and Ricky L. (Lori) Gump of King George, VA; two sisters, Bernadine Porterfield of Moundsville and Betty L. (Thomas) Gorby of Ft. Myers, FL,; one grandchild; four great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren.
Friends received 2-4 & 7-9 Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, July 26, 2010 with Rev. J. Thomas Steele officiating.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville, with the Moundsville Honor Guard conducting military graveside services.
