Louis B. Krawiec
Age: 89


Louis B. Krawiec, 89 formerly of Lang Street, East Liverpool, OH died at Nentwick Convalescent Center on Saturday, July 24, 2010 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Chester, WV on August 24, 1920 and was a son of the late Lawrence and Johanna (Vabulla) Krawiec.

Living his entire life in this area, for over 31 years he worked as a crane operator at the former Crucible Steel until his retirement in 1982. He was also a locksmith and was the owner/operator of Lou’s Locksmith for 31 years until he retired in 1992. Lou as a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII in the Pacific Theatre; was a member of St. Aloysius Community Parish as well as Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a life member of the Elks Lodge #258, American Legion Post 374 and the VFW Post 66 as well as a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

His wife, Anna May (Shirley) Krawiec died on October 10, 1996. They were married on September 6, 1947.

Surviving him are two sons: Carl Krawiec and his wife Theresa of Canfield, OH and James Krawiec and his wife Polly of East Liverpool, OH; three daughters: Nancy Siclair and her husband Steve of Galion, OH, Lois Masters and her husband James of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Shirley Salerno of Girard, OH; nine grandchildren: Sherry Smith and her husband Mike, Lindsay Green, Eddy Green, Tommy Salerno, Charlee Ann Krawiec, Thara Watson and her husband Justin, Kristee Kelley and her husband Wade, Samantha Abraham and her husband Mike and Natalie Siclair; nine great grandchildren: Destiny, Mike Chasity, Natalie Ann, Ashley, Annette, Barbara Jean, Sophia and Amelia and his best friend: John Hopper

Besides his parents and wife, four brothers: Stan, Bernard, Joe and John Krawiec as well as two sisters: Ann and Elizabeth Krawiec preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Father Eric Antwi as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group and the West Virginia National Guard will accord military honors.

Following the services, family & friends will gather for food & fellowship at the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes Hospitality Center at 145 W. 5th Street in East Liverpool.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 4-7PM.
