Joanne T. Kernik, 72, of Shadyside, OH, died Sunday July 25, 2010 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.
Joanne was born January 14, 1938 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of Anna M. Valloric Hora and the late Joseph Edward Hora Sr.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Shadyside, OH, and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Tyler.
Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Michael Kernik Sr., her mother, Anna M. Valloric Hora of Bellaire, OH, a daughter, Dianne Tyler, two sons, Michael Kernik and his wife Lori, David Kernik and his wife Jolynn, all of Shadyside, OH. A brother, Joseph A. Hora and his wife Mary of Belmont, OH, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4p.m. & 6-8p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio, funeral liturgy with Mass will be held at 9:30a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor George Coyne as Celebrant.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Powhatan Cemetery Powhatan Point, OH.

Vigil services will be held Wednesday at 2:15p.m. in the funeral home.
