I am so sorry that I was unable to attend services for Katherine. She was a wonderful woman and a huge influence in my life. She was a loyal friend to my family, especially my Nana, Jane Rogers.
When Nana was in the nursing home, Katherine really helped me through difficult times. She graciously hosted me at her home to make my visits to Good Shepard a little easier, as I was flying in from out of town for those visits.
Katherine gave me a wonderful interview about a year and a half ago for a television story that I did about my mother. I have gotten wonderful feedback on that Mothers'Day Tribute, which aired on Fox tv in New York and was widely seen on the internet. The 7-minute story was even nominated for an Emmy Award.
When I heard the sad news that Katherine had passed away,I was on a train from Philadelphia to Boston, and then had to go back to New York and work a night shift, otherwise I would have been there today. But I just couldn't work out the logistics.
I am so sorry for your loss. But Katherine left behind such a huge and loving family, that her memory will live forever.
I have made a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Katherine's name.
My deepest sympathies.
